ISLAMABAD ( 8th October 2021) The Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) has announced full participation of National Press Club Islamabad and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) in the upcoming elections. Committees have been set up to discuss the issue with government officials and journalists’ organizations on a daily basis.

 

According to details, a meeting of the governing and executive body of RIUJ was held yesterday under the chairmanship of President Shakeel Ahmed. The meeting started with recitation from Holy Quran. General Secretary Muhammad Siddique Anzar highlighted the agenda of the meeting. Senior Vice President Rana Rizwan, Finance Secretary Ayaz Akbar, Vice President Usman Khan, Vice President Muneeb Iftikhar and Joint Secretary Omar Jutt. Joint Secretary Azhar Sharif. Joint Secretary Shazia Tahir. Apart from Information Secretary Abid Chaudhry, members of the working committee Rizwan Ghalzai, Farhat Fatima, Mohammad Zarif, Essen Hashmi, Junaid Malik, Shabir Mughal, Tayyab Gulfam, Zafar Malik and others attended the meeting.

 

The meeting will be held with senior officials of the ministry including the Federal Minister for Information to discuss the issues for speedy resolution of problems and improvement of journalists, while the Pakistan Media Development Authority will also be discussed. C will take full part in the elections and for this, talks will be held with other groups as well.

 

The meeting also discussed the upcoming elections of PFUJ and hosting of RIUJ and decided to form a separate team for this purpose.

 

The meeting also decided to form different teams for the welfare of journalists. It was also decided to hold a meeting with the IFJ regarding the workshop of media workers especially women journalists. The meeting also thanked the management of the organizations which increased the salaries of journalists and media workers.
